or at least I sincerely hope so.
I truly had enough of sitting home. Not hat I was stuck indoors 24/7, someone had to do the shopping etc., but wearing mask was the definitely not on my “pleasures” list. Smelling your own breath while choosing your groceries… Yes, you brush your teeth, but so what? After half a day, your mouth is not greatly fresh, and I felt like a gazing dragon wondering in the store. The heat on top of it, I was sweating profusely.
Thankfully, nobody got sick in my family, but being somewhat restricted (which was mostly a mental thing for me), got me a bit depressed. Hence a long gap in my blog. Not that I physically couldn’t write. I just got so bloody lazy that there was no way to sit and scribble.
The mind is a weird thing. It can motivate you to become the greatest of the great, or it can downgrade you to the lowest level. No matter what you have, what your abilities are, what sources you have available… if your mind says NO – it is NO, and that’s it! That’s why it’s so important to be focused. Not to let bad thoughts to overtake your brain. I know that it’s very difficult to suppress depressing mood, but if you try really hard, you will make it; And I know that everyone is saying that. I also thought that it’s all talk and that they probably never had to deal with depression. However, I learned that everything is possible, if you push yourself towards your goals.
What else did I learn? I had 40 years to get out of my “timid” shell. Then it took me another 10 years to get to know what I know now. And yet, I am still learning. So don’t try to sulk that you have no time, or that you will never learn. Nobody will ever know “everything”, because you learn all your life. Even at the time of your death, you learn the last ever thing – how it is on the other side! HAHAHAHA
I also learned that whatever decisions I made, the success was dependent on my state of mind. You don’t need to be happy and have everything sorted in your life, to have good mood. Life is a string of problem solving tasks. Some tasks are huge, some of them petty. In everyday life, the first task of the day (problem solving) is probably a question of what will I wear today. Most people check the time first thing after they open their eyes. Those a very minor ones, and you might say – not important. If that’s so, why do you perform those tasks every single day, without even thinking? Try to neglect them for a day, or two. You can’t, can you? Why? Because they are a part of your daily routine. You don’t pay much attention to them, because you do them automatically. It’s something that you learned long time ago and you just carry on. The same apply to big tasks. You need to learn how to deal with them and get good at it by repeating the process. Once you perfected finding the solution – you will forget that the problem ever existed.
There is one thing that you have to remember – nothing is impossible. Human is a highly adaptive creature. The world that we live in is created by humans. Therefore nothing in this world is impossible for another human being. You might say – some are more talented and capable than others. It’s true that some are more talented, but when we are talking about capability – this is where we are all equal. The difference is – the talented one might learn in a day, while less talented will need a year to learn to the same level. At the end of the day though, we can all gain the same knowledge.
One of the important things to remember is that you cannot force-feed knowledge into your minds. Everyone should learn at their own pace (but do it – don’t avoid it; there is a difference between slowing down and skiving). Some children seem to be very slow comparing to their classmates. That doesn’t mean that they are not working hard enough. Of course, assessment of any learning difficulties has to consider many various factors. However, assuming that all the children in the class are equally willing to learn and assuming that they have no obstacles to do so, the children who can’t catch up with the others would just need more time to grasp the required information. Have a think, and ask yourself a question: do you know anyone who was doing very well in the school, and failed, or didn’t do too well, in their professional life? Or, do you know anyone who was a “failure” in the school and became a successful person in the adult life? It all depends on your approach to life.
Don’t assume that you can solve all your problems.
Don’t make problems bigger than they are.
If you can’t solve your problem on your own – seek help. You are not a god.
Listen to advice, but don’t blindly follow it. Ask for advice from various sources and figure out how well they suit your situation.
Don’t let others order you how to run your life. What is good for them, is not necessarily great for you.
Respect people trying to help you, even if whatever they say is not what you want to hear.
Think about yourself with criticism, but don’t put yourself down. Assess what what actions are beneficiary for you, but remember not to harm others while trying to achieve your goals.
Don’t let failures break you. Take them as life lessons, not punishments.
Respect nature, and observe and learn from it. You are a big part of the environment. By destroying it – you destroy yourself.
Be firm, but be fair at the same time.
Don’t do to others what you don’t want to have done to yourself.
It sounds like a lecture from mindfulness, and it might well be. The thing is, if we live in balance with nature, we are calmer in life. That gives us power to achieve more, and to enjoy more during our lifetime. You will feel better following this path. You won’t be restricted by harsh rules of economic wars. Take care about money, but don’t become dependent on it. Be happy with what you create, not with what you can buy.
Covid 19 is almost over, and me being creative through arts and crafts let me feel the happiness that I shared with my closest ones and my animals. Those who can’t live without shopping sprees suffered greatly, sharing their moaning and “pain” via social media.
Be your-free-self. Be good, be happy, be great, be safe.
